Comet DH106 ("Empress of Hawaii") of Canadian Pacific Airlines crashed at Karachi Airport on 3rd March 1953 while takeoff.
The comet (CF-CUN) was at takeoff, it used up the entire runway length & became airborne for only a few seconds and then came
crashing down in a dry river bed.
This crash closed the Airport for a while, and during the closure, commercial Airlines used RAF Mauripur instead.
This is a photo of commercial aircraft on the tarmac at PAF Mauripur (Masroor). Photo taken 1953
